MARY ANN SALB's Obituary
Mary Ann Salb, 97, died peacefully June 27, 2025, at her home in Boca Raton, FL.
Born to Franziska Mueller Butler and George Butler in Atlanta GA on April 22, 1928, Mary Ann lived most of her life in Miami, Fl. She graduated from Miami Edison High School and was a member of the Edison Cadettes dance and cheer team. Mary Ann attended Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) and returned to Miami to work in the office at Orange State Oil Company, where she met her future husband, Theodore (Ted) Salb. They married on July 9, 1949, in Miami.
As Ted continued his career in finance as an executive officer with First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Miami, Mary Ann became a consummate homemaker while they both raised their two children, Teddy and Cindy, and enjoyed entertaining their many friends with excellent food and lively conversation in their Pinecrest home. In 1975 Mary Ann and Ted bought a weekend “hideaway” in Islamorada in the Florida Keys, that was their pride and joy for over 45 years.
Mary Ann was active in the Westminster, Riviera, and Kendall Presbyterian churches they belonged to, in women’s circles and teaching children’s Sunday School. She was also active in the political arena, as a member of the Dade County Commission on the Status of Women, and the Republican Women’s Club of Coral Gables, and participated in various school PTAs.
In their later years, Ted and Mary Ann moved to Boca Raton FL to be near their daughter Cindy, who oversaw their care daily from nearby for many years.
Mary Ann is survived by her two children, Theodore E Salb Jr. (Heidi) of Ocala FL, and Cynthia Nadaskay (Anthony J. (Jim) Nadaskay, 7/5/55/-8/23/24) of Coconut Creek FL. Grandchildren include Theodore Mark Nadaskay (Kama) of Vida Montana, Christopher Nadaskay (Elizabeth) of Raleigh NC, Theodore E. Salb III (Hannah) of Ocala, FL, and Carole Ann Salb of Lakeland FL. Great grandchildren include Embri and Madilyn Nadaskay, Theodore E Salb IV, and Mia Nadaskay.
Mary Ann lived a full and meaningful life, and exhibited Christ’s love in her life for her family, friends, and strangers alike. She possessed the gift of hospitality and care for her fellow man. She will be dearly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that one day we will be reunited with her in heaven.
