MARTIN HARTOG's Obituary
Martin Hartog, age 99, died peacefully on August 26, 2012. Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on May 24, 1913, he came to the U.S. in 1933 where he met his wife, Josephine M. de Kadt Hartog (1919-2006). They were married December 23, 1941. After serving honorably in the Army during WWII, Martin and his growing family settled in Larchmont, N.Y. He was a devoted husband of 65 years, a loving father and world traveler. An accomplished salesman, he sold everything from bird feeders to real estate, owning a commercial cleaning machine distribution company. He was an extraordinary duplicate bridge player (Silver Life Master). He is survived by his three children--Robert (Doris), Jack (Johannys) and Beatrice (James);six grandchildren--Jenifer, Andrew, Jessica, Lauren, Jamie, Rachel; and six great grandchildren--Joshua, Nicholas, Alexis, Miles, Madeline and Kai. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. at Van Orsdel Funeral Home, 11220 N. Kendall Dr., Miami, Fl.
