MARTHA JEAN KENNEY's Obituary
Martha Jean Kenney (nee Adams) died peacefully at the age of 90 on February 2, 2015 at Edgewater Pointe Estates, Boca Raton, her residence for the past 15 years. Born October 10, 1924, she was the last surviving child of the large family of Joseph and Anabel Adams who moved to Miami from Ohio in the 1920s. She attended Florida State College for Women after graduating from Miami High in 1942 and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta (Tri-Delt) sorority. During WWII she worked for the Red Cross and her picture graced a billboard as Miss Keep ‘Em Flying in support of the war effort in Miami. She married Capt. Robert Martin Kenney in 1946 and they remained married until his death in 1995. She was a proud member of several organizations, including the DAR, Tri-Delt Alumni Association, and Coco Plum Women’s Club and the PEO. She and her husband were faithful members of a number of retired military officers organizations. She is survived by a daughter Karen Rightmire (Gary) and a son Robert Kenney (Karen), one granddaughter Meredith Youtz (Jason) and two great-grandchildren, Colin and Carter. A memorial service will be held at Edgewater Pointe Estates on Saturday, February 8, 2015 at 1 PM.
