MARTHA DROBNIE's Obituary
Martha Drobnie, 99, of Tampa, passed away on May 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 55 years, George. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Veronica Withers, and son George; grandchildren, John Withers (wife, Marta), Chip Drobnie (wife, Corey) and Laura Barker (husband, Patrick); and great grandchildren Grace, Michael, Wyatt and Benjamin.
Martha was born in Piestany, Slovakia and immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island after the end of World War I. Before moving to Tampa to live with her daughter, Martha was a long time resident of Miami and retired from the Miami Review newspaper. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed travelling the world with her husband George. Martha was a devout Roman Catholic who loved her family and friends, and she was an amateur artist. Martha was a humble woman who saw the good in everyone and lived by the adage, “waste not, want not.” She will be missed greatly and remembered fondly. Visitation will be held at the Van Orsdel Funeral Home Kendall Chapel in Miami on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.
