Martha Jane Bullman's Obituary
Bullman, Martha J. Alter, passed away quietly in her home on July 18, 2018. The eldest of 8 siblings, born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 5, 1937 to parents Stanley Dockray Alter and Melba Martha West.
Martha is survived by her husband of 46 years Richard D. Bullman, her daughter Eileen P. Berry, her grandchildren Nicholas and Alexandra Swerdloff, her stepson Mark Bullman and wife Timmerly, and 7 sisters and brothers: Brenda Miller and Joyce Barbarino, James, Daniel, Stanley J., Ronald and Charles Alter, with countless cousins, nieces and nephews.
As a Graduate of Miami Senior High School and Montreat College in Black Mountain, NC, she distinguished herself as one of the first female S&L Senior Vice Presidents in the country, spending 40 years with First Federal Savings and Loan/AmeriFirst Federal. She was also a real estate broker for over 50 years, and CEO for 20 years with Coral Gables Association of Realtors/Miami-Dade Association of Realtors, with offices in Coral Gables, Brickell and Plantation until her retirement in 2010. She wrote a column bi-weekly for the Miami Herald’s Sunday Real Estate section, at their request for years until her retirement.
Martha loved life, her family and friends, her work, and most of all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 PM at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel on Friday, July 20th, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 21st. Followed by interment at Flagler Memorial Park.
