MARLIES K. WAHL's Obituary
Marlies K. Wahl, 76, of Miami, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2016 at home after recently being diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. She was born June 20th, 1940 in Bern, Switzerland, the daughter of Herman and Margrith Kreienbuhl.
Marlies was married to Hans R. Wahl in Switzerland on May 25th, 1962. Shortly thereafter they moved to New York and began their life in the United States. They enjoyed several years together before starting a family. Their daughter, Patricia was born in 1971. She and Hans bought their first house after moving to Jackson, Tennessee in 1972. Marlies, Hans and Patricia made their way to Miami, Florida in 1978 where Marlies spent many years as a loving wife and devoted mother. She was a caring neighbor who always lent a helping hand and always had a kind word to share. She enjoyed interior design and took her passion for decorating and attention to detail and built a small but successful interior decorating business.
Marlies was an incredible person who loved to travel. Some of her most memorable destinations included Tunisia, Kenya and The Cook Islands. She also enjoyed simply spending time with her family and friends. She also found joy in her gardening and was an avid reader.
Besides her husband, Hans, and daughter, Patricia, Marlies leaves behind her younger sister Bethly Aufenast, close relatives in Switzerland and cherished friends.
In lieu of an official memorial service, the family encourages friends and relatives to leave condolences or share a memory of Marlies on this website.
