MARK A. TROWBRIDGE's Obituary
Mark Alan Trowbridge, 56, was born on May 8, 1968 in Toledo, Ohio. He went to his eternal home on February 21, 2025, in Miami Springs, Florida.
Mark was affectionately known as “Mister Coral Gables”. He was the President and CEO of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce for the past two decades, where he made a significant impact not just with the business community but with all who met him. He was a beacon to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and commitment to serving others. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the way he lived and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mark is predeceased by his father, Edgar and two brothers, John and Paul. Mark is survived by his loving mother Mary Lou Trowbridge, his sister and brother-in-law Tracy (Trowbridge) and Stan Newman, and his sister-in-law Karen Trowbridge. He also leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews and a great great niece and nephew.
Mark and his family moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1982 and he graduated in the Class of 1986 from Eau Gallie High School. Mark was an avid Florida Gators fan, having graduated from the University of Florida with his Bachelor’s and Master of Education degrees in 1990 and 1992. He had served as president of the national board for the University of Florida Alumni Association and never missed watching a Gators game.
Those who knew Mark will remember him for his infectious personality and overwhelming laughter, and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
The family will receive friends at Van Orsdel Funeral Home, 4600 SW 8th Steet, Coral Gables, Florida 33134 on March 15, 2025 from 12pm- 4pm.
Donations may be made in Mark’s honor to the Trowbridge Family Fund at the University of Florida, New World Schools of the Arts, The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Foundation, The Children’s Trust or SAVE Dade.
