Marjorie Maria Mundell's Obituary
A LIFE WELL LIVED
Marjorie Maria Mundell, affectionately known as Sissy, entered this world on April 5, 1922 in Kingston, Jamaica. She was the second of five children born to Elfreda and George Tai. Her siblings, Cleveland, Lillas and Ronald, whom she loved dearly, predeceased her. She is survived by her beloved and devoted sister, Sylvia.
Marjorie met and fell in love with Roderick Mundell and their marriage produced seven loving and caring children: Gary, Beverley, Alrie, Dave, Aldene, Kharen and Richard; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. An important event in her life was when she accepted the Seventh-Day-Adventist faith and became a loyal member of North Street Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kingston.
Marjorie was the epitomé of motherhood, demonstrated by her love and devotion to her children, grands, nieces and nephews, as well as the many other children she treated as her own. She was a loving and devoted wife to Roderick and a supportive partner in their successful business enterprise.
Marjorie was a wonderful home-maker with excellent culinary skills. She had a keen eye for beautiful curios and over the years acquired an impressive collection, which she displayed with pride.
Marjorie and Roderick migrated to the United States in 1979 and continued to live exemplary lives. She became a faithful member of Miami Temple and Kendall Seventh-Day-Adventist Churches, and served as deaconess at the latter.
After almost 99 years of a wonderful life, and now a widow, Marjorie passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She now awaits the return of her Lord and Savior.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends. May she rest in peace.
