MARILYN B. NEWKIRK's Obituary
NEWKIRK, MARILYN Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, mother in law and friend to so many, Marilyn Newkirk passed away unexpectedly and peacefully beside the love of her life on Friday, January 29, 2016. Born April 29, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Among her greatest joys was being the mother of her three children and when she reconnected with her teenage love, Bob in 1985. They were married on November 24, 1989 and she moved to live in Tulsa, OK. In 2013, they made Miami their home. Throughout her life, she never met a stranger. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for all. She absolutely adored living in their condo in Coral Gables and spending time on the balcony with Bob, her family and many friends. Marilyn was a member of PEO and was well known as a book reviewer. Marilyn is survived by her husband and soul mate, Robert W. Newkirk; her children Cindy Talbert (William), Jay McCall (Rena), Carolyn Squires (David); stepchildren Melanie Newkirk Trook (Larry), Mark Merritt (Alex), nieces Janet James (David), Summer Williams, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 6, 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables, 536 Coral Way. In lieu of flowers, request donations to the church.
