MARILYN HUEBNER DAVISON's Obituary
Our family’s Mom & Nana - being absent from her body is now present in heaven with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ - the captain, content & consummator of all - He: 'the author & finisher of her faith' (Hebrews 12.2), together with God the Father Almighty & the Holy Spirit. We rejoice in this reality. Our Mom & Nana is now shining in the glory of heaven.
Marilyn Huebner Davison, 91, of Coral Gables, Florida, left our planet, straight into the arms of Jesus - July 12, 2024 15:27 - SAFE AND SECURE FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!
She died peacefully, at home, in her sleep, following a 4 year valiant struggle --- with her depleting human body ---. A total of 7 traumatic fractures (the last 2, in her final year), and 3 strokes over 2 days, when Covid started - were big contributors to her decline. She even made the front page of the Miami Herald, 3/28/’60, for the first two fractures. Two months prior to her death she was still active at the gym, completing her 3x/week, 19 machine workouts. Her presence & tenacity were a big motivator to all who saw and knew her.
She was born & raised in Garnavillo, Iowa. Her proud parents were, Mr. & Mrs. Carl August Huebner. In high school she was on the basketball team (shooting hoops in our backyard at 90) & also a Cheerleader. She was in the Chorus, Band, the Student Council, Yearbook Committee & enjoyed acting, modeling & art. She was a talented artist, but never took the time to develop that talent. It was in Garnavillo, where she started her service/hospitality future: American Veterans (Am Vets) Club Hostess, Librarian, Secretary, Choir Director and Waitress.
.
Marilyn attended Luther College & Stetson University before pursuing her dream to become a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines. Her dad saw her off on a train, to attend the Grace Downs Air Career School, on 5th Avenue, in New York City. In her spare time she found a job as Hostess, in the Brass Rail restaurant (also on 5th Avenue). Immediately upon graduation, she was hired, at the school, by Eastern Airlines (‘54-’58). They immediately put her on an airplane to Miami & directly over to 36th Street, for uniform fitting. This was her first airplane ride! There she met her EAL pilot/husband Walter R. Davison after he had completed 8 years as an Air Force pilot in WWII & the Korean war. They had 2 children. He proceeded her in death August, 2016 & is interred in Arlington National Cemetery.
As an adult, Marilyn had always been active in her communities, initially Miami Springs & then, Coral Gables.

We are now missing love — a quiet force is gone.
Kind. Patient. Unstoppable. Unshakeable. Armed and Ready. Devoted. Tough. Unquenchable. Gracious. Good. Forgiving. Relentless. Tender. Understanding. Beautiful. Shining. Funny. Passionate. Dynamic. Strong. Rock Solid. Mighty. Fearless. Unbeatable. Uncrushable. Reliable. Remarkable. Loved!!!
Marilyn will be cremated by Van Orsdel Funeral Home. We are planning only a Family Memorial, sometime in the future. SUCH a FULL, BEAUTIFUL & rewarding life!!! SHE was the strength & pillar of her family!!! She is survived by Son/Carleton Davison, retired Miami Beach Firefighter (wife, Lori); Daugher/Lisa Davison, retired 32 year JMH RN; triplet grandsons: Austin, U.S. Foreign Diplomat; Noah, U.S.A.F.; and Kyle, Boynton Beach Firefighter. Her presence is already GREATLY MISSED, but, knowing she is not here (our planet) - but there (heaven) - we are joyous & so very happy that she crossed the finish line successfully!!! Great love to all who knew her from the generations that remain.
