Marian G. Fewell's Obituary
Marian went home to her Lord and Savior after a brave three week fight against COVID. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and preceded in death by her adoring husband Robert, "Bob" and survived by her daughter, Carole, and son-in-law Rodd Buell, of Wellington, FL. She was known for her beauty, but her true beauty came from her kind heart. She and her husband remained in the same house they had built in Coral Gables for over sixty years, but spent the Summer and Fall months in their vacation home in the mountains of NC. Marian and Bob loved traveling and visited numerous countries all over the world. In addition, Bob flew his own plane and they had fun planning trips with the Bonanza Society throughout the US. Marian was an excellent gourmet cook. Always improving her cooking skills, she enjoyed taking cooking lessons from popular chefs, her favorite being Chef Jacques Pepin, who guested at her NC cooking school. She and her husband were members of the Kenmure Country Club of NC, the Palm Beach Polo & Country Club and the Riviera Country Club. Marian and Bob were passionate about giving back to the city they loved, Miami, especially Coral Gables, through philanthropic donations to the arts, education and healthcare. They gifted the Robert and Marian Fewell Gallery building at the Coral Gables Museum, the Coral Gables Fewell Park, and donated other substantial gifts in support of the University of Miami, the Founders Society of the Baptist Health Foundation and numerous other charities. Recently Marian funded a chair in honor of Bob's cancer doctor, Dr Pasquale Benedetto, at the Sylvester Cancer Institute, to aid in oncology research. Her daughter will miss her precious mother forever and always. A private graveside service was held at Woodlawn Cemetery North at the family mausoleum.
