should they come to visit: Cyril, Elma, Wendell, Merlin, Lois, Lloyd, Miriam, Laura and
Norma.
She married Robert E. (Cy) Thompson in 1948. They raised their three children in Salt
Lake City, Utah. Marian was active in her church, was a Girl Scout leader and loved
sewing, gardening and mystery novels. She led the singing in Sunday School; she
sang with the Allegro Chorus; and, she always had music playing in the house. She and
Cy were divorced in 1969.
She married Owen G. Bigler in 1972. They enjoyed fishing, traveling and joining the
Bigler family for joyous family reunions. Owen passed away in 1989.
She is survived by her three children: Teri Thompson of Miami, Florida; Randall C
Thompson (Debby) of Libertyville, Illinois; and Jeanine Thompson (Douglas Moody) of
Westerville, Ohio. She is also survived by her two grandchildren: Katie
Thompson of Palatine, Illinois and Michael C. Thompson of Chicago, Illinois. Also
calling her “Grams” are Alyssa Shelton (Jimmie) and Evan Patino. In addition, she is
survived by her former daughter-in-law, Barbara Thompson (James Drullinger) of
Gurnee, Illinois.
Marian was a happy, friendly person who loved to make friends and participate in the
life of her community. She loved her life, friends and caretakers at East Ridge
Retirement Village. She especially enjoyed singing with the chorus, meeting her friends
for dinner, walking around the campus and attending classes in music history and
percussion.
There will be a memorial service for Marian Bigler in the auditorium of East Ridge
Retirement Village in Cutler Bay, Florida on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
