Margarita Jimenez's Obituary
Margarita Jiménez, née Pérez, age 62, of Miami, died Monday, November 10, 2025. She was born in Miami on January 4, 1963 to Margarita Riquelme and Virgilio Pérez.
Maggie, as her friends and family called her, was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her two grandsons. As a skilled cook and host, she was among those members of her large extended family who played a critical role in bringing them together, welcoming them and her close friends to gather at her home on holidays, family reunions and other special occasions.
Over the course of more than a decade, she gave countless hours as a volunteer at Conchita Espinosa Academy — a K-8 school that she and her three children attended — especially as the lead organizer of the school’s Family Affair fundraiser festival.
From her home kitchen, Maggie built a fiercely loyal following for her small catering business, through which she expressed her passion for bringing friends and family together around food.
She worked largely on her own in the kitchen and had help from a small service staff at events, where her food was enjoyed at weddings, baptisms, company parties, school functions, Thanksgivings, and Christmases.
Maggie is survived by her husband of 41 years, José Ignacio Jiménez; her children Nicolás Antonio Jiménez, Susana Teresa Papy, and Rebeca Cristina Jiménez; her grandchildren Samuel and Thomas Papy; and her siblings Christina Pérez de Armas, Pupi Pérez-Abreu, Juan Pablo Fernández, Tatiana Pérez Ivan, and Nicole Pérez Vargas.
