MARGARET DAVIES STEBBINS's Obituary
Margaret Davies Stebbins, age 93, from Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2018.
She was born in a shipbuilding town near Liverpool, England on September 23, 1924. Margaret met Freeman Stebbins, her future husband, in Freckelton, England, near the hospital where she worked as a nurse’s aide. Freeman was a supply sergeant in the Eight Air Force, serving during WWII. Marge and Freeman were married in November 1944 and moved to the U.S. when Freeman was shipped out for home.
Margaret worked at Miami Children’s Hospital, as an operating room scheduling secretary, for 50 years. She was also a Commodore at the Miami Yacht Club and helped establish the Miami to Key Largo sailboat race.
She is survived by her daughter Victoria and her son George, her grandchildren Scott and Craig, and her great-grandson Owen.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at VanOrsdel Funeral Home located at 11220 N. Kendall Drive Miami, Florida 33176.
