MARGARET MELINDA LYON's Obituary
Margaret Melinda Lyon (nee Foster), known to family as “Big Mum,” was called home on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017. Born on May 31, 1926 in Hudson, MA. Margaret moved to Miami to seek work as a nurse at Jackson Memorial, where she eventually worked for over 30 years. In Miami, she met Neil David Lyon, a handsome, blue-eyed gentleman. They quickly married and raised three wonderful children, Stephen (Nancy), Marilyn (Ronald) Ilhardt, and Barbara (Andrew) Clute. Margaret was an active member of Hope Chapel and The Senior LIFT Center and continued to be even after the passing of Neil, her loving husband of 63 years.
In addition to her children and their spouses. Big Mum will be fondly remembered by her eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and extended family and dear friends. We will miss her peanut hunts in the backyard, delicious pies, crocheted baby blankets, and Sunday dinners. But we’ll miss her kind and generous heart most of all. Big Mum was the center of our family and she will be dearly missed…every day
