MARGARET ELISE KNISKERN's Obituary
Elise Scofield Kniskern , born in Largo, FL July 31, 1922, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Lovely Lady, full of grace, kindness and elegance. She belonged to many organizations, and participated in countless civic causes. What mattered to her most was her family and seizing any opportunity to help someone in need. Elise did not like to talk about her good deeds or any kindness she had shown. She felt that the only applause that mattered were those of the “nail-scarred hands” and to someday hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”.
Elise was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Kniskern, and leaves behind her beloved children: Warren Kniskern of Raleigh, NC, Wayne Kniskern (Jane) of Hickory, NC and Peggy Kniskern Wilson, of Miami. Grandchildren Jordan Wilson Bell (Jason), Cameron Wilson, Sean Sanchez and Jennifer Kniskern. Elise (aka Derby) was thrilled to meet her great-grand daughter, Juliana Elizabeth Bell, born Dec. 11, 2014 and enjoyed a Christmas of four generations .
Elise is also survived by her brother, Wayne Scofield (Mary Ann) of Palm Bay, FL. Elise’s family cannot express enough gratitude to Iris Diaz and Pamella Brown. Their love, care and friendship enriched her life, and ours, beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Granada Presbyterian Church 950 University Dr, Coral Gables, on Friday January 23, 2015 at 4pm followed by a reception in Fellowship Hall.
Elise would want to thank anyone wishing to send flowers, but would ask, instead, to support the Salvation Army, Miami Area Command, 1907 NW 38 St, Miami FL 33142, Attn: Clyde Preston
