Aunt Leonor.
He danced at my wedding leaving a memory of that day with happiness and years of 'who was that dancing like John Travolta in Saturday Night fever?' from those who were present at the time. I would proudly answer : Cucho, my nephew. Many years later we dance together at his sister's Esther wedding. As we danced he told me how he remembered all the stories I had told him and his sisters as we took nightly walks around the neighborhood. He remembered Alexander's funeral.... Alexander was a small white mouse they had given me as a present but whom their grandmother had kept outside on a very cold night and had passed away. We both laughed at how very proper and ceremoniously the funeral had been conducted. We last saw each other on a very surprising visit he gave to his grandmother and I six years after. He looked so sure of his new calling as a body hunter and was with his two partners. We agreed to meet for dinner that evening but he called me to say he had to return to NY that very evening. We never spoke again and lost contact until his grandmother's days were coming to and end. He called and his voice brought the only reaction we had seen from her in a long time... she whispered his name: Cucho.
I will miss you dearly my beloved nephew. I know that you are resting in a peaceful slumber to be resurrected when the Lord calls your name.
