When our teen daughter Yesenia was diagnosed with Heart failure and only months to live, Palmetto Hospital gave us her chart and told us to take her to Jackson Memorial, as our only hope was a heart transplant. All our hopes were on the then Doctor in charge of transplants, to find out to our dismay, that our daughter did not qualify because of her schizophrenia mental condition. We were then assigned to a new young doctor, who placed her on a experimental new medication. Our daughter is now 46 years old and the young doctor was Dr. Mayor. To us he was a miracle maker. We have followed Dr. Mayor to all offices he has worked and he was always there for us and our daughter. After open heart surgery and valve replacement, I placed my mom in his care and can never forget how he went to visit her at Baptist Hospital almost daily. My mom lived to be 90 years old, thanks to Dr. Mayor. There are no words to express our gratitude to such a great and simple person as was Dr. Mayor, our lifesaver.
