LYNNE MERRICK OLSEN's Obituary
Lynne Merrick Olsen, 77, of Cutler Bay, Florida, departed this world to begin his everlasting life on Thursday, December 28, 2017. Lynne was born in Chicago Illinois on March 17, 1940. Lynne and Dora were blessed with 55 years of marriage. They built a life together and raised two children. Lynne enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was the go to guy to fix anything. We all depended on his expertise in mechanics and electronics. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Dora of 55 years, daughter Estelle Delesdernier of Round Rock TX, daughter Mary (Dean) Leon of Shelby Township MI, Brother John (Rita) Olsen Morton Grove Il, Sister Holly Oliva of McHenry Il, grandchildren Carl, (Angie), Lauren, Blake, Alexandra, Bryce and Katherine. His nephew Tim (Carmen) and Robbie Van Scoy. Lynne also had a special relationship with his faithful fur baby Pumpkin.
He was a commercial airline mechanic for over 40 years. He joined the United States Air force in 1957 and subsequently worked for Capital Airways, National Air Lines and Pan American World Airways. He retired from Dade County Public Schools as a radio technician in 2005. He held licenses in Air Frame, Power plant and FCC communications. He was a member of ARRL, The National Association for Amateur Radio for HAM operators and the academy of Model Aeronautics. He was a proud member of the AFLCIO, The Transport Workers Union of America and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers. . He enjoyed reading, camping, boating, fishing, and flying in his free time. He was a licensed private pilot and truly loved his years flying his personal 152 Cessna, his pride and joy.
