LYDIA VALDES FERRER's Obituary
Ferrer, Lydia , 88, passed away Wednesday, 09-07-16.
She was born in Havana, Cuba. Lydia and her husband made the courageous decision to move to the United States in 1961, leaving behind all they knew to give their children an opportunity for a better future.
In Cuba, she worked as a kindergarten teacher for La Academia Pitman, which was co-owned by her husband. In the United States, she held various book keeper positions.
She was an artist. She loved oil painting, ceramics, and other various crafts. She played piano.
She was a woman of faith, humor, and compassion, who shared her love and wisdom with family and friends. She was strong and adventurous, travelling to Europe, sliding down waterslides with grandchildren, and even riding a horse at age 85.
She is survived by her children: Carlos, Lydia, and Fred Ferrer. She has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be missed by numerous family members and friends.
