Luz María Negrón
Luz María Negrón Marín, age 93, of Miami, Florida, formerly of Puerto Rico, entered eternal life peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Baptist Hospital of Miami.
Luz was born on May 30, 1926 in Utuado, Puerto Rico to the late Emeterio Negrón Marín and Carmen Marín Villafaña.
In 1950 she married José Alí Lajara Torres in Utuado, Puerto Rico. She later married Francisco Carneado Piñera on February 15, 1967 at Ponce, Puerto Rico.
At an early age, Luz started helping her Godmother hand stitching ladies gloves. She was employed by Singer Sewing Machines for over 30 years where she received multiple Sales Achievements Awards. After moving to Miami, FL she worked at Sears Roebuck at the concession area and later at the Linen Department
Luz María was a very talented seamstress often making dresses for her daughters even with matching ones for their dolls. She also loved to travel and try different foods from all over the World. She was considered a great role model by her younger siblings because of her work ethic as well as her professional and personal accomplishments.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Luz Migdalia Lajara (Maximiliano) González of Miami, Marie (Kevin Arne) Carneado of Oakfield, WI, Estela (Manuel) García of Miami; Daughter-in-law Susan Carneado of Mesa, AZ; Siblings, Luis Manuel (Aida) Negrón, Cándida (Angel) Montalvo, Carmen Leyne (Celio) Negrón, Erasto (Kaye) Negrón, Wilfredo (Hermelinda) Negrón, Gilberto (Noemi) Negrón, and Hilda (Paul) Casey; Grandchildren, Maximilian Joseph González, Adriana Marie González (Scott) Pittenger, Manuel Enrique García, Carlos Manuel (Anamaria) García, Robert Carneado, Kelly (Bear) Smith, Alexis (Scott) Sheppard, Steven (Missy) Carneado; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; Also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Francisco Carneado Piñera on January 17, 1992; Son, Frank E Carneado on June 22, 2006 and brothers, Alfonso Negrón, Israel Negrón and Hector Negrón.
Liturgy of Christian Burial Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Saint Louis Catholic Church, 7270 SW 120th Street, Pinecrest, FL 33156.
