Jeff and I are deeply saddened by your passing, Lisa. Though we haven't been in touch for several years, we have many wonderful memories that we'll hold close. I enjoyed working with you, and you were one of my first friends when I moved to Miami and began work at AvMed. We had so many great times, both at work and outside the office. We also shared the difficult times. You were open and funny and intelligent and warm. You treated us like family and welcomed us into yours. You were physically beautiful and that was only magnified by your love and loyalty to your family and friends.
We will continue to pray for your family in this unimaginable time of loss.
You were one of my first friends when I started working at AvMed. You were energetic, smart and funny. You always knew the answer to my question. I remember all the stories about the island house, Marty, your Sisters, your beloved parents. Over the years, we worked closely together - you still at AvMed and me at Memorial. You were always so full of knowledge. We always say it's not the same since Lisa left because of all the history she had. I remember our Thursday evening phone calls after ER to discuss what happened on the show. We were so sad when it ended. I remember going to see Heart in concert with me and my husband. We had a great time that night. I remember your visit with Veronica after my grandmother passed away. That meant the world to me. I wish you Godspeed my friend. May you rest in peace among the Angels.

Thank you for including me in the "Island House" trips where great memories were made with you, friends and your parents, who embraced me as "one of their own". Your love and concern for animals was a common bond between us. Thank you for all you did to care for all those needy creatures. My heart is heavy for mom, dad, sisters and all who considered you their friend. I miss you. And as we always ended our phone calls, LOVE YOU.

I will never forget the many times you were there for me. All the fun times and memories we made together. 23 years of friendship thought me a lot about compromise, tolerance, and acceptance.
You were a loyal and giving friend. Those of us who were lucky enough for you to let us in, experienced first hand the kind of person you were. Honest, charitable, selfless, with impeccable work ethic. And yes, often stubborn and set in your ways.
You were an excellent hostess of intimate dinner parties and lunches.
You loved Halloween and dressing up for it was an adventure.
You still sent handwritten Christmas cards, often with a pewter ornament inside.
You made our children feel special and they loved to be around you. Lisa, you would have been a wonderful mother.
You gave more of you than you received in return.
Rooms lit up when you walked in and your infectious, loud laugh was contagious.
Your tough exterior was simply an armor to guard your soft and tender heart.
I will forever treasure our friendship and only hope that you knew how much you meant to me. In heaven there is no pain, no suffering, no loneliness, no resentments, no regrets. May you rest in peace forever.

My Dear Lisa - You had one of the most loving hearts I've ever known. I told you that many times over the years that we knew each other. You were selfless in so many ways, and you tried to rescue every sad person and every sad animal you ever came across, and you never stopped giving to them, no matter the return on your investment - it was simply what you did. You gave and you gave, except when it came to yourself. I learned much from you about giving, and I learned that when you give, you must not give so much that you have nothing left for yourself. I am so saddened by your leaving us now, when it seems way too soon for you to go. You were an Angel on earth Lisa, and I console myself by thinking that God took you at this time because he needed you in some other way. I pray that you are at peace my friend, and I pray that you send the blessings of your most generous love to those of us that are still here thinking of you.
I hope my thoughts of you reach your family, and help to comfort them in some small way.

I worked with Lisa for 10 years at AvMed and understood her. I left AvMed in 2010 but she and I would talk periodically with plans to get together for lunch or dinner. It never happened. I am so sad.
