LINDA MARIE SWEENEY's Obituary
Linda M. Sweeney passed away in peace on September 16, 2016 after a 19 year battle with cancer. Linda was born on April 27, 1947 in Long Island, New York and married Paul, the love of her life of 49 years, on September 28, 1968. Linda lived for her family and friends, and to her the two were indistinguishable. She dedicated her life to helping at-risk youth in the public school system, ensuring every child knew they were special and loved. She spent her life caring for her developmentally disabled brother and together with her husband became tireless advocates for the disabled. She is survived by her husband Paul Sweeney, children Paul Sweeney, Jr and Pamela Sweeney (Charo), siblings Peter Ferraro, Ellen Ferraro, John Ferraro (Jill) and his children Leanna and Nick as well as beloved extended family across the country. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to The Arc of South Florida or American Lung Association. Linda’s celebration of life will be held on Thursday, 9/22 at 6pm at Unity on the Bay.
