Lemuel Jackson's Obituary
JACKSON, LEMUEL, 89, a long time resident of Miami Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2011. Lemuel was born in Lowell, GA, the youngest son of Leonard Jackson and Dana Summerlin Jackson. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Thelma Carey Jackson, and his brothers, Charlie, L.B., and Preston Jackson. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII on C-46 aircraft flying the hump in Burma. He moved to Miami after the war. Lemuel was a flight engineer for National/PanAm airlines for more than 30 years. An engineer at heart, Lemuel loved anything mechanical and particularly enjoyed restoring airplanes and cars to their former glory. He was witty and enjoyed practical jokes and a good laugh. In his later years, he enjoyed riding his bike and feeding the ducks in Miami Springs. He will be greatly missed but forever loved by his surviving children Connie Jackson Clontz and Leonard Jackson, daughter- in-law Sally Jackson, and grandchildren, Adam and Evan Clontz, and Ryan Jackson. Visitation 6-9 pm Friday at Van Orsdel Coral Gables.
