Kit Ming "Kathy" Kwok's Obituary
Kit Ming “Kathy” Kwok, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, surrounded by her friends and family. She was 74 years old.
Kit Ming, affectionately known as “Kit, Kathy, or Kat” to her close friends and family, was
born on October 27, 1951, in Macau, to Kwok Shing and Chow Pui Cheung. Kathy devoted her life to caring for others, whether through her family, her faith, or her work in the community.
For over a decade, Kathy shared her life with her devoted spouse, Orn Adalsteinsson.
Together they shared laughter, friendship, travels, and faith.
Kathy was a long-time member of St. Kevin’s Catholic Church, where she served in many ministries including communion minister and lector. Her faith guided every aspect of her life, inspiring her to help those in need and to live each day with grace and compassion. Her generous heart and unwavering commitment to others made her a pillar of strength and kindness in her community. For years she traveled to China where she was involved in numerous missionary projects.
In 2008 Pope John Paul II awarded a special papal medal to Kathy in recognition of her
involvement in serving others and promoting the faith.
Kathy is survived by her son, Cris; her grandson, Ethan; her spouse, Orn; her siblings,
Florinda, Sheila, David, and Lawrence; and many dear family and friends. She was
preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Raymond and Ben.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE OF KIT MING KWOK will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Kevin Catholic Parish, 12525 SW 42nd St, Miami, FL 33175. In a private ceremony, Kathy will be laid to rest along with her parents and brother in California. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Caritas Internationalis, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), or a charity of your choice in Kathy’s memory.
