Hey Pop. Your relationship with your children is funny, to say the least. For years, I thought you were just a friend off the family or some dude that was dating my mom and trying to hard to get me to like you. It wasn’t until I met my brother, Kaleem that I accepted you as my dad.
Even then our interactions were few and far between but I remember them. I remember your smile. I remember almost getting expelled for selling the envelopes we drew on at school. I remember how you laughed when I told you.
When my mother gave me the news, I mourned the loss of potential relationships between you and us. Now I rejoice in the love pouring over from Aunt Pete, Uncle Heyward, and the rest of the family. In your absence from the physical, I know you’re here in the spiritual. 💚🙏🏾
