Kees van Brunschot's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Cornelis "Kees" van Brunschot
October 1, 1937 – August 23, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cornelis "Kees" van Brunschot, who departed this life peacefully on August 23, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born in Breda, the Netherlands, on October 1, 1937, Kees was the beloved son of Eduardus van Brunschot and Gerardina van Der Werff. He grew up in Holland, where his adventurous spirit and love of travel were first kindled. These passions led him across the globe, eventually bringing him to Lima, Peru, a place that would forever change his life.
In Lima, Kees met Rosita, the love of his life. Their bond was immediate and enduring, and together for 54 years, they built a life full of love, laughter, and exploration. Kees worked in the airline industry, a fitting career for someone whose heart was always drawn to the skies and distant horizons. This career eventually landed him in his forever home in the United States. Kees was also an avid sailor, finding peace and joy on the water.
Kees is survived by his devoted wife, Rosita van Brunschot; his children Marja, Ricky, Susanne, and Rietje; and their spouses Allan, Karina, and Elmer as well as his grandchildren Gianna, Kees, Paula, and Stellan; and his great-grandchild Emilia. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
Kees will be remembered for being a true gentleman, for his warmth, his adventurous soul, and the stories he shared from a life well-lived. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A private memorial will be held by the family to honor his life and legacy.
