KATHRYN NAN BECKER's Obituary
BECKER,
KATHRYN N., 50, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2015. She is survived by her loving sister, Janet Bland, brother, Mark Becker, and sister-in-law, Penny Becker. Kathryn adored her nephews Gus, Sam, Michael, Dylan, and Ruger. She is predeceased by her parents, Johannah Becker and Richard Becker. Born in Arizona but a Kansas native, Kathryn attended Hutchinson High School and Stephens College. She had a passion for travel and lived abroad and throughout the U.S., eventually settling in Miami, Florida. She was a competitive sailor and avid tennis player. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 at the young age of 32, she was an 18-year breast cancer survivor. Kathryn volunteered her time to the South Florida Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and served as a mentor to other women facing the disease. She was an active volunteer in the community and served on the Board of Directors for the Branches, Inc. Foundation where a scholarship was established in her name. Kathryn worked as the Sr. Director of Marketing at ADP TotalSource for over 20 years where she is highly regarded. A woman of strong faith, she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables and was an integral part of the church leadership, serving as chair of church council and outreach opportunities. Kathryn faced life’s challenges with dignity and grace and was an inspiration to all that knew her. She was a loving daughter, sister and friend. By example she taught us to live life to the fullest.
Memorial Services will be held in Miami at the First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables at 11:00 a.m. on December 5, 2015. She will be laid to rest in Hutchinson, Kansas.
