Kathleen Elaine Lance's Obituary
Kathleen "Kathy" Elaine Lance, 75, of Miami, Florida left this world on August 3, 2021 peacefully in her home with her family by her side.
Kathy was born to Dorothy and Andrew Knollman in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 9, 1946. She was preceeded in death by her son Scott Lance. She is survived by her husband, whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 55 years with, Jerry Lance, her son Shawn Lance and his spouse Elizabeth Lance, daughter Shannon Bruno and her spouse Michael Bruno, and Grandchildren Andrew Lance and spouse Peyton Lance, Zachary Lance, and Noah and Nathan Bruno.
Kathy graduate Miami Norland High School. She married Jerry on June 11, 1966. She ran Dart Maintenance and Supply alongside Jerry for 53 years and she was a member of Miami Shores Presbyterian Church. She also had a short lived cake baking business that ended promptly with her children's foot in the cake during the delivery. She devoted the remainder of her time to raising her 3 children and later spending time with her grandchildren.
It would be wrong to say Kathy lost her battle with scleroderma and it's side effects because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she felt she was always known by her friends and family for her hospitality, friendship, giving spirit, exceptional baking skills and a sacrificial love and devotion to her family.
Though the family grieve her loss a service to celebrate her life will be at Miami Shores Presbyterian Church on Saturday August 28, 2021 at 11 am.
It was Kathy's wish to help children with type 1 diabetes, like her grandson, attended Camp Sweeney. This camp helps children learn about and manage type 1 diabetes while living a normal life. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Camp Sweeney in memory of Kathy Lance.
