Kathleen Abraham's Obituary
Abraham, Kathleen (Kathy) Tiss -
Kathy was born January 7th, 1943 in Miami, Florida and passed away at age 81, on January 30th, 2024 at her home in the Palace gardens in Homestead, Florida. Kathy valiantly endured the up and down challenges of Alzheimer's disease before her passing.
Kathy grew up between Miami Florida and Utica, New York. She graduated from the Utica Free Academy before receiving her Associate Degree from Pensacola Junior College. She then moved back to Miami for a job in banking. Shortly after she would meet and marry the father of her children, Sonny Abraham. Kathy had a long and very successful career at Merrill Lynch, working there for over two decades and making many friends.
Kathy enjoyed attending a wide variety of sporting events, reading and traveling with her cousins. She loved redecorating her house a lot, always making improvements AND keeping you guessing where she moved things. She always had a home improvement project going on and loved to do it all herself if she was able to. Kathy also had a soft spot for her beloved dogs, Wicket and Bodgit. And her grand-dog Ty, who she dog-sat often.
Kathy spent a lot of time involved with Sunrise Community where her younger daughter Becky is a longtime resident. She was very active with the parents groups, outings and fundraising.
Kathy is survived by her daughters Debbie Bonnet and Becky Abraham, both of Miami, Florida. Her brother Michael Tiss of Rochester, New York. Her nephew David (Julie) Tiss of Herndon, Virginia. Her niece Katie Tiss of Denver, Colorado. Kathy also leaves behind many cherished cousins, grand nephews and nieces as well.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Palace Gardens where Kathy resided these last few years. From the Administrators to the Activities Directors, Nursing staff to the kitchen staff. They made her last few years happy, active and joyous ones.
Kathy wished to be cremated. Her interment will be private. In lieu of flowers a gift may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. heeps://www.alz.org
