Wow, I just found the sad news. Galen and I had so many great times and laughs, at Ohio University. Lived together, vacationed in the Bahamas, just unbelievable memories. My condolences to the family.

Galen was a great mentor and a great friend to me. He stands as one of my research heroes and he instilled in me a love of doctoral education that will last my lifetime and beyond. I will forever be grateful for everything he did for me and I am blessed to have him in my life story.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to everyone whose lives were touched by Galen, especially his family. His memory and and wisdom lives on in each of us.

I am so very sorry to learn of Galen's passing! He was my mentor and dear friend, and will always be responsible for a huge part of my career. He nurtured me from the beginning of my Ph.D. program and well into the growth phase of my career. I already miss having the ability to call him at any time for advice or to just say hello and check in.

I am so sad to hear the news about Galen's passing. He was an important part of my journey to a PhD at FIU. He was always available to listen, and shared lots of good advice about life in academia that I cherish to this day. I am grateful for the opportunities he provided to me as a PhD student, and for the laughs we shared. The photo is from my graduation celebration in 2008. Rest in peace, Galen.
Thanks to him I owe a lot of my success at FIU. He listened, responded and provided guidance at every turn. The family can rest assured knowing that, at least in my case, he contributed very positively in his role, clearly and with transparency. His soul needs to be thanked for all the good he did.
This news has saddened me deeply.

I will miss our esteemed colleague and former department chair - Galen Kroeck. Galen hired me in 2003 and was my neighbour in Ryder Business building for 10 years. It was Galen who introduced me to Palmetto Bay where I have been living for the past 18 years. He was a good person at heart and fought for the rights of the department (at the time known as Management & International Business). Thank you Galen from the bottom of my heart and may your soul rest in peace. - Sumit K. Kundu
