June M. Valdivia's Obituary
June Stewart Valdivia quietly passed on December 17th. She is predeceased by her son Clifford Joseph Stewart, her husbands Clifford George Stewart and Michael A. Valdivia. She is survived by her daughter Pat Stewart of Boston and by her step-sons Michael and Robert (Dee), and grandchildren Jacob and Kaitlyn.
June enjoyed waitressing at Wolfie’s on Miami Beach for over forty years before she went to Pumpernik’s on Hallandale Beach blvd. She loved caring for people and “the girls”.
June joined The American Gold Star Mothers and held offices at chapter, department, and national levels. She was a regular weekly volunteer at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center in Miami for over twenty years. She was awarded national “Volunteer of the Year” in 2009. The award was presented by Mr. Shinseck, Secretary of Veteran Affairs.
She will be remembered for her dignified spirit and giving personality. The proudest moment of June’s life was being asked to sponsor her grandchild’s, Jacob Valdivia, confirmation this year. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you send donations to The American Gold Star Mothers at 236 N.E. 103 St. Miami Shores, FL. 33138
