June Theresa Day's Obituary
Beloved daughter of Thomas George and Helen Day and sister of Thomas and Mike Day. Born in Staten Island on May 3, 1929, June moved with her family to Miami in 1935. June
graduated from Florida State and received her Masters degree in Education from the University of
Miami. June was an elementary school principal in the Dade County school system for 45 years and was
a faithful member of Church of the Little Flower for 45 years. She was active in her Little Gables
community. June is survived by her nephews, Tim and Thomas James Day and her nieces, Jennifer
Marker, Leslie Soria, and Katie Brady. Visitation will be on Friday, August 10 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at
the Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel located at 4600 SW 8 Street, Coral Gables. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, August 11th at 1:30 pm at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to: Boystown, Food for the Poor or Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
