JUDITH A BYNUM's Obituary
Judith Ann Paulette Palmer was born July 31, 1943 in Fort Wayne Indiana, to the union of Robert L. and Virginia Palmer. She graduated from Emerich Manuel Training High School in 1962, excelling in everything. After graduation, she moved to New York City which she then called home for the next 55 years.
Judy met and married, James Bynum in 1964. They raised one daughter, Rotinia Bynum – Parks. Judy liked being physically fit, as well as, participating in outdoor activities such as bike riding and picnicking in the park with her family. She also liked to attend cultural events such as Broadway plays, the opera, and ballet performances. Judy embraced all that New York City life had to offer. While living in the city she prided herself in staying current in fashion trends and pop-culture. As a fashionista, she was known to have her own personal style and make bold statements.
Judy started off working in law firms as an Executive Secretary. She then went into the field of Court Reporting. Judy later pursued a career in Real Estate and Insurance Sales where she was recognized in an issue of Black Enterprise Magazine as one of “New York Life’s Finest”. She was a regular volunteer at the Lighthouse which helps individuals with visual impairments. She also participated in ESL (English as a Second Language) programs which assisted individuals in obtaining citizenship. Judy was extremely interested in politics. On many occasions, one would find Judy passionately discussing politics and world affairs.
Judith Ann Paulette Bynum departed this earthly life on July 12, 2016. She was proceeded in death by her twin brother, Julius Palmer. She is survived by one supportive daughter, Rotinia Bynum – Parks and husband, James Bynum. Also left to keep her memory alive are two sisters, Diannah Neptune and Leatris Palmer; seven brothers, Benoit C., Marcus J., Robert C., Gustavo, Robert L., Evaristo N. and niece Davienne Neptune and a host of relatives and friends.
