Joyce Dawn Adkinson, 69, Born in Manhattan, N.Y. and lived in Miami, Florida, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 17, 2013
The funeral arrangements and service will be held Wednesday from 6pm till 9pm on March 20, 2013 at Van Orsdel Funeral Home 11220 N. Kendall Drive Miami, FL 33176.
Pastor and friend Ted L. Ralph of New Life Christian Fellowship will be officiating.
Burial will be held the following day, Thursday March 21 at 11:00am Miami Memorial Park Cemetery 6200 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33143.
Joyce enjoyed riding her bike daily, going to church and having coffee at McDonald’s with all of her friends. Joyce was also actively involved in the community feeding the homeless and attending the elderly.
Joyce is survived by her brother Joe Shaner and her sons: Duane, Jerry, Nick and Eugene; grandchildren: Adam, Celeste, Amanda, Jaylynne, Jazmyne and Jade, Sister In Law Trisha Rosado and many cousins, nieces, nephews and multitude of friends that she considered family.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Gerald D. Adkinson and brothers Marty and Wayne Shaner.
