Joseph R. Carlucci's Obituary
Carlucci, Joseph R. Born Oct 21, 1922 to Dominic and Maria (Battista) Carlucci and raised in Glen Cove, L.I., NY. He passed away on Sep 7. In WWII, he served at airbases in the UK and France with the 410th Bomber Group, 646th squadron, and was being redeployed to the Pacific theater when the Japanese surrrendered. Before being shipped overseas, he began a correspondence with the sister of one of his comrade in arms and upon discharge courted and soon married Agnes Fashik. With his wife of 61 years, he founded and made successful Carlucci Real Estate Inc., a South Florida realtor. He was a home builder, gourmet cook and accomplished singer of popular songs of the 40's and 50's. Above all, he was a devoted father, son and husband. He is survived by his wife, Agnes, his daughter, Mary Ann, his brother, Tony, his sisters, Lena Landro, Carmela Melli and Bessie Roach. His brother, Mike who along with Tony, also fought in Europe in WWII, predeceased him. A visitation will be held on Sunday, Sep 11 from 2:00 to 6:00pm at St. Nicholas Melkite Cathoic Church on 5715 Lake Ida Road, Delray Beach. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Sep 12 at 10:00am at St. Nicholas, with interment to follow at 12:30pm at Woodlawn Park Cemetery, 3260 SW 8th St, Miami. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Nicholas Melkite Catholic Church in his memory.
