JOSEPHINE CAMESI HANCHEY's Obituary
Josephine Hanchey died December 14, 2014 in Miami after a long illness at age 86. Josephine was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Concettina and David Camesi from Troia, Italy and was one of five children. She is survived by her elder brother Leonard Camesi and family (Pinecrest, FL) and younger brother David Champion and family (Manhattan Beach, CA) and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Pennsylvania.
After retiring from FPL in 1989, she remained very active in different organizations, holding numerous positions with the American Legion Auxiliary, Coral Gables Post 98, Greater Coral Gables AARP Chapter 449, St. Louis Golden Agers and was a 23 year volunteer at the Miami VA Hospital. Cooking, socializing, traveling and taking different cruises were things she loved to do. The Catholic Church and its charities were also very important parts of her life. She was married to Wallace Hanchey for 32 years. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 13th, 2015 at 12 noon with visitation starting at 11 AM, at VAN ORSDEL CORAL GABLES CHAPEL. Private Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the "American Lung Association".
