JOSEPH M. SULLIVAN's Obituary
SULLIVAN, JOSEPH M., passed away in Miami, FL on March 25, 2013. Predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Patricia, he is survived by his son Michael, daughter-in-law Jean, grandsons Sam and James, daughter Mary and son John. A resident of Miami, FL for 55 years, Joseph was born July 11, 1918, in Cambridge, MA. After joining the Marine Corps, he served both in WWII and the Korean War. In WII he served in the Pacific Theater; involved in the capture of the islands of Roi Namur in the Marshall Islands, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. He landed in Japan shortly after the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki and the Japanese surrender. After retiring in 1958 as a Sergeant Major, he moved to Miami where he met Patricia and began his family while embarking on his second career with the Miami Dade Water and Sewer Authority which he retired from as a Supervisor in 1983. A Mass of Remembrance will be held on Monday, April 1, at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena, 9200 SW 107th Ave., Miami, FL 33176.
