Joseph Mazloom's Obituary
Joseph Mazloom Sr, formerly of Miami departed this life on June 26, 2010 in Pinehurst, North Carolina, after a brief illness. We were blessed that he was able to celebrate his 86th birthday with us as well as a wonderful Father's Day.
Mom (Helen) and Dad relocated to Pinehurst 4 years ago after residing in Miami for more than 60 years.
Dad was a WWII veteran and returned to Miami in 1946, where he met Helen, the love of his life and partner for 61 years.
Dad is a former City of Miami Police Officer, Circuit Court Officer and businessman.
Our Dad supported various causes and charities, but he was most passionate about our Church, St. George Cathedral, feeding the hungry and organizations benefiting under privileged children.
He was always there when you needed him, not only for his family, but also his friends and his church. Our Dad is our hero and we miss him so much!
As ill as he had been, he was a beacon of strength for all of us, never complaining and using all the strength he had in an effort to get well enough to go home to his Helen.
In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by his three children; Joseph (Katie), Candace Hart (Tom) and Denise Ilmonen (Ed), as well as three grandchildren who he loved very much and three great grandchildren he was just beginning to know.
Visitation and Prayers are Thursday, July 1st at St. George Cathedral, 320 Palermo Ave. Coral Gables, 6PM to 8PM.
Graveside prayers and burial will be Saturday, July 3rd, 1PM at the Winter Garden Cemetery in Orlando. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dad's name to St. George Cathedral 320 Palermo Ave. Coral Gables Florida 33134.
