JOSE LOPEZ's Obituary
Jose Lopez, 89 of Miami, Florida passed away, Tuesday, September 18th, 2019. Son of the late Jose Maria Lopez and Ines Vicenta Lopez. Jose was born in Cojimar, Cuba on August 23rd, 1930. Jose graduated from Los Escolapios de Guanabacoa Club Nautico de Cojimar. Jose was married to Victoria Lopez on July 23rd, 1954. When Jose was growing up, he was a member of Club Nautico de Cojimar. Being a born athlete he became the captain of the Cuban Roman Wrestling Team after winning numerous Gold Medals at different competitions he qualified for the 1948 London Olympics where he won a Bronze Medal. After coming to the United States in 1958 he had his own upholstery business. In 1985 he became a Sky Cap with DAS until he was 85. Joses was survived by his two children, Julie Lopez and Joe Lopez, his two grandchildren, Julianno B. Leon and Leonardo Leon. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at Miami Memorial Park.
