Jorge Alberto Pena's Obituary
Jorge Alberto Peña, 61, passed away on August, 18, 2023, in Miami, Florida. He was born August 21, 1961, in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, to Raul and Maria Peña. The family moved to Miami in 1966. Jorge attended Coral Park Senior High School and received his Bachelor’s in Criminology from Florida State University. He also held a Master’s in Public Administration from St. Thomas University. He was preceded in death by his parents and his late wife Maritza Behar Peña. He is survived by his two children Kristofer George Peña and Kelsey Peña Schott, their spouses Joshua Collins and Dylan Schott; his stepchildren Jackie Remmer, Kristy Smythers, and Samuel Behar and families; his first wife, Kristofer and Kelsey’s mother, Laura Chiarello; and many other beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Jorge worked for Miami Dade County for more than 30 years in code enforcement. He enjoyed cycling, live music, dancing, and living life to the fullest.
His celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Van Orsdel (11220 N Kendall Dr, Miami, FL). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone who would like to do so send a donation to a charity of their choice.
