John C. Mullin's Obituary
John Clifford Mullin, born June 25, 1931 in East Lansdowne, PA. Graduated from West Phila. Catholic Boys’ H.S. in 1949, enlisted in the Marine Corps and fought with the infantry, 7th Marines, 1st Division in the Chosin Reservoir (‘Frozen Chosin’) in North Korea. He returned to Philadelphia, where he met the love of his life, the former Mary King, a graduate of West Phila. Catholic Girls’ H.S. John and Mary were married in Philadelphia and moved to Miami in 1955.
He worked as the Circulation Manager at Southern Beverage Journal for over for 25 years. He was a devout Catholic, and was loved and respected for his stoic demeanor, reliability and sense of humor.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Mary, their children: Maureen Beaty (Dave Reed), John, Jr., Michael, Kevin (Isabel) and Joseph Brian (Sonia), seven grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, and by his sisters, Betty McGuigan, Sister Margaret, HCJ and Mary Krawczuk and was predeceased by his parents, Joseph P. and Evelyn Craft Mullin, and four brothers.
The viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Van Orsdel Bird Road Chapel, 9300 S.W. 40th Street and the funeral mass will take place on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 8725 S.W. 32nd Street, Miami.
