It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Katsock Jr., who left us on September 19th, 2024 at the age of 59.
Born October 27, 1964, John Katsock Jr. was a man larger than life, with an energy that filled every room. Truly one of a kind, his magnetic, unpredictable, and unforgettable personality left people both shocked and laughing with just one sentence. You couldn’t meet him and not immediately love him.
Life with John was always full of excitement, and he made sure everyone around him experienced life just as fully, giving them the “John Katsock experience”. Always generous, John was genuinely passionate about helping out and taking care of others. He treated everyone with fairness, respect, and care, whether sitting at a dinner table ordering everything on the menu, driving on a spontaneous trip, or playing baccarat at the casino.
His brilliant mind was his biggest asset —always one step ahead, deeply intelligent, and constantly evolving. As an entrepreneur and investor, John had an uncanny ability to anticipate market movements and make sharp bets. He made it a point to learn something new every day. He immersed himself in daily research on every sector imaginable, quickly analyzing the latest news, market trends, and was never shy to share his commentary. He took immense pride in raising his three daughters to think critically, take risks, and continuously strive for more.
At the heart of John’s life was his family, and at the center of it all was his deep love for his wife, Marissa. He often said he would love her for as long as they both lived—and even beyond. He did everything in his power to give her an incredible life, always finding ways to show her how much she meant to him. From grand gestures to simply savoring her home cooking, his love for her was unconditional and pure. Equally strong was his love for his three daughters - Katlyn, Kristin, and Rachel - whom he adored beyond measure. Being their dad was the most important role in his life. He filled their lives with adventure, showing them the world through his unique perspective and ensuring they lived every moment to the fullest. His greatest joy was watching them grow, and he made countless sacrifices to support their dreams, always putting their needs first. The success of John’s daughters is a testament to their dad’s hard work, loyalty, unwavering selflessness and devotion.
John’s love extended beyond his family to his friends, with whom he stayed close through daily calls—whether to check in or share a quick joke. No one wanted to miss a phone call from John, knowing it was about to be the best part of their day. Throughout his life, he maintained a tight-knit circle with those who could keep up with his competitive & restless nature. But even upon those he had just met, he made them feel like family. Being John’s friend meant you always had a bull in your corner.
To those fortunate enough to have known him, John was more than a presence—he was an experience. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, forever reminding them of the love, strength, and joy he brought into their lives.
