I'm grateful for the opportunity he gave me to work for him 19 years. For his patience when I returned to work after my accident. He taught me so much, not just professionally, but about life and being a better person.
When he interview me for my position he told me that he was, "a very important Doctor" and he sure was. He was an excellent Physician that treated all his patients with great care and worried for them like they were a family member. He was smart, kind and honest. There were patients that came seeking orthopedic care but left the office with an appointment to see the correct Physician because their diagnosis was not orthopedic related.
His Family was the most important thing to him He always had pictures of his boys and was always talking about them and his wife "Teresita" as he lovingly called her. He would rush to leave the office or hospital, just so he could get home to them.
Even after I stopped working with him, we stayed in touch. I could always count on him for advice or just to hear his voice. When he became sick I visit him and called him often, always hoping to offer some comfort. I'll never forget the last time I called. Though he didn't remember who I was, he still said, "I know your voice, and I know I like you" and thanked me for calling. Just like he always did when I worked by his side, he never left the office without saying, "thank you for all your help".
I loved and admired him more than words can express and I will always miss him.
Rest in peace Dr. Jennings. I hope that one day we'll meet again,
With love and gratitude,
Your Secretary, Maylen
