JOHN AARON FINN's Obituary
FINN, John “Jack” Aaron, born June 7, 1931 in Miami died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at home of congestive heart failure. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in Germany during the Berlin Wall crisis. Jack attended the Univ. of Miami where he earned an undergraduate business degree and his law degree. He practiced law until 1992 when he completed his certification for mediation. He was employed by Mediation, Inc. He presided over 5,500 mediations from 1992 until his retirement in January of this year.
Jack loved sports as a participant and as a fan. He was an avid supporter of University of Miami football, Miami Dolphins and the Florida Marlins. He enjoyed bowling, league and tournament, and GOLF – anywhere and any time. He was a member of the Miami Elks Club #948 for 26 years.
He is survived by his three children – Paul Kelly (Cheri) of Georgia, Erin Richardson (David) of Georgia and Maureen Finn of Miami; and grandchildren – Matthew Finn (Stephanie) and Emily Finn of Georgia; one sister, Mary Frances Corbett of New Smyrna Beach, Fla, and his eight loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves his adored partner of 22 years, Peggy Slayden, her sons, Roger Slayden (Laura) and Gary Slayden (Diane), and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack was known for his great sense of humor. His main goal in life was to make you laugh. His jokes will be missed. Family will be receiving friends at 2:00 PM, at Van Orsdel Chapel at 11220 N. Kendall Dr., Miami. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 and a reception on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, also at the funeral home.
