Johann Ulmer's Obituary
Ulmer, Johann, died October 22, 2013. Born in St. Louis, MO, only child of adventurous parents. At age 12, having lived in 38 states, settled in St. Louis, she graduated from Roosevelt High (1948), then Harris Teacher's College (1950); active in Jobs Daughters and crowned Queen of St. Louis Bethel 11 in 1949. Married in 1955 to Walter, her husband of 54 years, a devoted wife and wonderful mother; they moved with their children to Florida in 1963; residents of Pompano Beach, then Deerfield Beach, since 1967, with occasional absences to cruise the Bahamas on their boat "Happy Day" and the North American continent by RV. Widowed in 2010, she moved to John Knox Village in 2012 where she flourished. Survived by their children, Sandra Lynn Bland (and her friend, David Frick) and Mark S. Ulmer and his wife, Dale (Stocks); and grandchildren, Linzy and Layne Buehler and Jacob Bland, and Kyle, Trevor and Kelly Ulmer. Memorial service 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2013, at The Chapel at John Knox Village, 651 SW 6 St., Pompano Beach, FL.
