Joaquin Hernandez's Obituary
Joaquin Hernandez, 72 years old, of Miami, FL, went to Heaven on Saturday, March 1 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Joaquin was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, on November 17, 1952. He was an electrician by trade, having worked for decades as a plant operations engineer in various Miami area hospitals.
Joaquin is survived by his partner of many years, Gloria Fernandez; his former wife, Olivia Hernandez; his beloved children, Joaquin (Liliana), Lourdes, and Alfredo (Rachel Alexander); and his loving grandchildren, Brody and Isabella Hernandez, and Danny and Gaby Verez. Joaquin is also survived by his caring siblings Teresita (William) Faulkner, Omar, and Maria as well as by his sisters-in-law; and his dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and their respective spouses.
Joaquin was the fifth of seven siblings born to Alfredo Hernandez and Maria Asuncion Arandia Hernandez.
All were born in Cuba. Joaquin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Alicia, and his brothers Alfredo and Francisco.
