JOAN HUBLER HUTCHESON MORRIS's Obituary
Joan Hutcheson Morris (nee Hubler) passed peacefully from this life on Sept. 18th, 2022
surrounded by family, at her beloved home in Ye Little Wood, Coconut Grove.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa. Joan moved to Florida in her teens and remained a lifelong resident.
Her 70+ years residence in The Grove made her an invaluable asset as a member of The
Barnacle Society, where she was active in preserving the history of Coconut Grove.
Active is the defining word in Joan’s life, from neighborhood historian and preservationist, to
salon hostess to Cub Scout Den Mother, she always found something to do to improve the life
of those around her.
With her intelligence, wit and warmth her presence made everything just a little bit better.
She will be missed, and fondly remembered.
Joan is survived by her life-partner John Powers, sons Edmund J. Hutcheson, Kenneth J.
Hutcheson and wife Ann Hutcheson, grandson Michael A. Hutcheson, great grandsons Devon
Hutcheson and Draike Hutcheson, and great grand daughter Amber Bassano.
Visitation will be at Van Orsdel funeral home 4600 S.W. 8th st. Miami Fla. 11 a.m. Sept. 28th,
with a service at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
