JOAN F. MAUGERI's Obituary
Maugeri, Joan 71, passed away June 8, 2012 at home with her husband, Joseph Maugeri Jr. Joan was born in Philadelphia, PA and in her late teens, she became an aspiring model, then later became the Director of the "Philadelphia Modeling and Charm School". In 1967 she moved to Miami with her Husband Joe. She then became the Director of the Barbazon Modeling School in Coral Gables. She switched careers and helped her husband Joe for Eleven years to run their pet shops on Kendall Drive, called "Quality Critters". When Joe desided to sell the pet shop, she openned up a modeling school next door called "Camelot". Due to unforseen circumstances (sky high liability insurance) she had to close it. She then became office manager to "Travel Weekly Magazine" in Hollywood, Florida. After the September 11 tragedy, the office was shut down. The last few years, Joan had to move around the house on a 50 ft oxygen hose hooked to a generator. The doctor's told her that her lungs were failing, putting a strain on her heart and they would have to insert a tube in her lungs and feed her thru a peg in her stomach, for the rest of her life. Joan is survived by her husband, Joe Maugeri Jr., Her Brother, Richard and wife Helen, Berwyn, PA. Sister's, Evelyn Godhall and Husband Jack, also, Peggy Council, Brookfield, VT., Bucks County, PA.
