Joan Ahye-Marshall's Obituary
Joan Catherine Ahye Marshall was born in Mayaro, Trinidad November 25, 1936 to Ena Ahye and Shah Mohammed. She grew up in Belmont with her maternal Aunt Margaret Heywood and family. She was the second of five children: older sister Gloria (San Diego), younger brother John (Grenada), younger brother Anthony (deceased), and younger sister Elaine (Canada ). She met the love of her life, Selwyn, as a teenager. They had two children, Partricia Karen (deceased) and Heather Jacinta, and one granddaughter, Stephanie Lian. She migrated to the United States in 1967 seeking a better life. She then retired to Miami, Florida in 1988 to be near her daughter and granddaughter, where she lived until she departed her earthly existence on February 10, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Selwyn; daughter, Heather; granddaughter Stephanie; brother, John; sisters Gloria and Elaine; sisters in law, Rita, Marion, and Cheryl; brothers in law, Lance, Marlon, and Ashton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.
